Prices:

Our fences usually cost between two and twenty thousand dollars. If you know the style of fence you are looking for and approximately how many paces or feet long your fence line will be, we can give you an estimate via a phone consultation. Or if you tell us your price range we can suggest some options. For a more exact price and advice regarding style and fence placement compatible with your house and landscaping we advise an onsite visit.

Most of our fences could be categorized into three major price ranges.

• Value Fencing ($2 to $18 per foot):  Who says that quality has to be sacrificed for price? Our Value fencing is often bought by our price conscious commercial customers or new homebuyers. They know that they are buying the best value for their dollar. The personalized customer service of The Other Fence Company comes free with every contract. Price competitive fencing is usually simple cedar privacy, split rail, picket garden fences, chain link, round post and dowel fence, and T stakes. Distances are usually 150’ and longer.

• High Standard Fencing ($18 to $40 per foot):  Our bread and butter. These are most of the fences that you see around town with our name on them. What sets us apart from the crowd is the quality of our work, our materials, and our workers. Tight cuts, coated deck screws, architectural grade lattice, highest quality red cedar from Canada, gates that keep on working year after year. For most companies these are a custom job, for us they are the norm.

• Furniture Quality Fencing ($40 to $100 per foot):  These fences are fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, often eliminating screws or nails entirely. Posts are usually 6x6 western red cedar from Canada, pickets are clear grade or tongue and groove. Common joints are lap, dado, or mortise and tenon. Fasteners include deck screws pre drilled, hot dipped galvanized ring shank nails, finish nails, and brad nails. Lumber is planed smooth, often the posts have had the corners rounded off with a hand plane. Fascia boards, kickboards, routered edges, top rails, post caps, custom lattice, and many other quality features are the choices available with one of the finest fences available anywhere.

Every year a larger percentage of our work is for return customers and referrals. Last year that percentage topped 50%. Chances are that if we are bidding on your fence we have either built a fence for you before, we built a fence for a friend or neighbor, or we have built a fence that you specifically like the looks of.

We constantly make an effort to streamline all processes so to make our high quality fences fit within everyone’s budget. We believe the cost of a well made fence is more than offset by the years of satisfaction that comes with having gotten the best value and quality for your money.

Scheduling

At the time we bid your job usually we give you an estimate of current backlog based on when the job we are currently working on was bid and also how long we think the signed contracts we have in front of us will take us to do. Our typical backlog usually is between six and ten weeks. Please bear in mind that the backlog quoted to you last week is no longer valid. We are continually signing and completing contracts. We stress that all estimated start times are estimates only. We do sometimes work on a contractually specified start and completion date basis, but be aware the costs are greater due to potential overtime as well as scheduling a large enough buffer in front of your contract so as not to conflict with any of our other jobs.
